PROVENANCE
Both bookends bear a foil sticker on the underside labeled "Burrows Cleveland," referencing Burrows Brothers, a prominent Cleveland, Ohio bookstore chain with over 120 years of history. A fitting provenance for a literary subject.
MARKINGS
Dante bookend: original stamp on reverse marked "DANTE" with simple scrollwork. Beatrice bookend: unmarked. Both have felt pads on base underside as shown in the photos.
