Stunning and extremely colorful porcelain vase depicting two geisha women in a beautifully detailed garden scene, heavily embossed with beaded paint, moriage, and an abundance of gold trim throughout. Moriage — a labor-intensive technique of applying raised designs to ceramics and porcelain frequently found on Oriental pieces — is featured extensively.
Measures 8"H with a 3" top opening, 3½" widest body point, and 2¾" base diameter. Three felt pads on the base were affixed by a previous owner. Base marked "Made In China Food Warning."
